I would as a matter of safety. I presume the fan has two pull switches, on/off and fan speed.If you are replacing existing fitting make sure you correctly identify the 2 wires going to the fitting.
Most ceiling roses are in fact a junction box. Wires in and out to next light and wire to switch and back. Hence you will find 2 black 4 red and 2 earth.

If it has an earth connection, yes - if not, no need to bother.
