wireless interent on my laptop

I have a laptop with a WIFI connection. I would like to connect to the internet whenever I wnat with little cost. How do i do this without having to search around for someone elses wireless connection to be available?

I forgot to mention I do not have a phone land line and it is not possible for me to get one.

With little cost!!?? You'll be wanting free bank charges next! (LOL). As I think others have suggested, you'll need a PCMCIA phone card/modem. Certainly not cheap. Don't think there's a satellite alternative yet.

Other possibility is to connect some mobile phones and use as a modem - you'll have to do some research on Google.
