Thanks Spottydog - I was already aware of this site, but was hoping for a reasonable clue - I hardly think your reply fits the bill. This is the first time I have posted a question on here - if yours is the sort of reply I'm going to get, I wish I hadn't bothered. I see there are many posts with people saying how helpful AB is - I take it they don't include you!

I have completed this quiz., and I did it the hard way. No help from anyone.

Spotty Dog - Congratulations - not everyone's as clever as you. I thought that was the idea of this site. As I said before, this is the first time I have asked a question. Like you I try my utmost to complete any quiz/crossword I enter on my own. The one time I ask for anyone's help, I get the most unhelpful and arrogant reply. If you pride yourself in doing things on your own, why do you answer so many of other people's questions?

What are you going on about boysinblue68......you asked for a clue and was given the best one there is ie a specific site to search! How that can be unhelpful and arrogant I don't know.

Candled - I think you've missed my points. I asked for a reasonable clue. What was offered amounted to saying the answer is in the Encyclopedia Britannica (or the like). I never said I wanted to be told the answer, just a little help. I do feel Spotty Dog's reply was arrogant - he boasts that he has completed the quiz without anyone's help - obviously hinting that I should do the quiz on my own (which I have done apart from this one quetion). Yet he is more than wiiling to supply answers to other questions that other people have asked - a case of double standards I think. I totally agree with others that people should do some of their own spadework befor easking for assistance. As I said earlier, this is the first time I have asked a question on AB - I thought it was a friendly site - maybe I was wrong.

Yes it is a big site, just what I thought when I first found it and started looking through it however once I knew the answer was there I persevered and found it, so it can be done (30 mins).
I still think you unfair to someone who did actually help you, it would have been much more "unfriendly" if you had been ignored.
