Im a regular viewer of Everybody Loves Raymond could anybody tell me what corn dogs are and maria is always making collonis probably wrong spelling but it looks like a sponge roll with cream in it.Could anybody enlighten me please as to what they are. Many thanks
Isn't a corn dog like a hot dog, in a bun, but with some sort of sloppy sauce containing sweetcorn? i seem to remember seeing a picture of one once in a book.
A corn dog is a hot dog-type sandwich coated in cornbread batter and deep fried in hot oil, although some are baked. Almost all corn dogs are served on wooden sticks, although the original corn dog was not. (from Wikipedia)
Well in the show I saw the corn dogs were on sticks I thought at first they were ice cream but Robert put them into his pocket when Maris found out he was eating one, and she said are they hot and he replied yes,so cannot be ice cream.
BBWCHATT - weiners are not a common name over here - I presumer you mean sausages of some kind. The word weiners always makes me smile for some reason.....................................!!!!!
Spudqueen - I think weiners are these tinned or packet frankfurter/hot dog sausage things. Could be wrong though.
Garner - If you have a Costco in your neck of the woods they have corn dogs up at the freezer area if you really want to try one.
Seizure on a stick, as a cultural exchange tried them at a baseball game ... never again the dog is a spicy frankfurter and it's thicker than over here too. Corn batter is nice tho.
