I am after purchasing a new dinner set. Has any ABer got a square dinner set. Call me traditional, but I am in two minds. Does it make a difference to presentaion or portion control? Is it east to scoop peas up?
I don't want to be modern just for the sake of aesthetics!!
I have a square dinner set. The plates are massive, which although does not tempt me to put more on the plate, sometimes leaves me feeling like I haven't eaten enough.
I don't know about scooping up peas though, I don't like peas!
If you do opt for the square version, I would recommend buying one with slightly smaller plates.
Wardy surely a man of your calibre would not 'scoop' up peas!!!!
Seriously, they may look nice presentation wise but in a couple of years they will be out of vogue so why bother. I would suggest spending the money on a set that doesn't age with fashion.
Sainsburys are selling square white plates and bowls for 1 each. The plates arent too big which means i dont pile them with as much mash. They help us not serve too much!
You might have to hunt for them as they dont seem to want anyone to buy them. In my shop they've been sandwiched between completely unrelated items at the bottom of shelves and lately they've been in the fridge. Actually!
