anyone used any products that actually do what they are meant to, used a carpet cleaning mousse to try to get the stain out, faded but when dry i can still see it, apart from the white wine thing which i didnt have at the time, always the way lol, any abers got any suggestions
I've often used Vanish soap on red wine stains and by insisting the stains have disappeared. If you don't have white wine handy try white vinegar, I know it stinks but better than nothing.
Pour white wine on it, if you haven't got any go and get some, its only a couple of then mop up the most of the wine and poor loads of salt over stain and I mean loads, like a whole packet!! that will draw the stain out!!
hi puddicat! i got a dark red wine stain on a beige carpet a couple of years ago, to get it out i mixed bicarbinate of soda and bleach to a thick paste, scrubbed it in to the stain and left it to dry. when it had gone back to powder i hoovered it up and the stain had vanished! my friend told me about this and i was scared of sticking bleach on incase it took the colour out. i tested it on a patch under the tv cabinet first!! lol!! but it didn't lighten the carpet at all! now i use it for all stains i get on the carpet . hope you get it out xXx
I'm not sure if it will work as you have already treated the stain, but when I dropped a mixture of summer fruits...blackberries etc onto a cream carpet, having heard that gin works for beetroot stains, I tried gin!! It removed every last bit of the stain. I would rather have drunk it and it is an expensive way of stain removal, but hey..it worked! Have a go!!
