Does anyone have any opinions re Smart cars? (Not the smallest models)

I have driven a 1.5 diesel Smart forufour today and only decided not to buy it because it had no aircon.

It looked and felt like a really good motor.

I know people who have various models and they seem very happy with them. I think they are made by Mercedes or distributed through them
