Direct bank transfer is a good option - no charges and very safe for the seller. Buyers should only use this method if the seller is trustworthy.
Here are eBay's recommended payment methods:

If you try to use any other method as a seller, your listings will be liable to be moved.
And you will find it hard to get sellers to accept other payment methods.

Mate just use a good old fashioned cheque or a postal order. Like Lady P I have had to change my ebay password 3 times in the last month because they think my account isn't secure!!
I've never used Paypal but to me it's a bit of a no brainer. Sell an item and receive cheque/postal order pay no fees.
Use paypal and pay a %
Which shall I choose lol

I use ebay for a lot of buying and selling and would only accept cheques in extreme circumstances - and I rarely buy if the the seller does not accept PayPal.
Postal orders are expensive and going to the bank to deposit cheques is a pain. And then the wait for the cheque to clear.
If the cheque has been issued fraudulently, then it can be reclaimed from the account months after it cleared.
If I am buying and there is PayPal protection I know I will get a refund if there is any problems. I have been refunded without problems several times.
As a seller, I know all the requirements to safeguard myself and have not once lost out using PayPal.
