Building good abs is like building any other muscle group.

You need to perform a wide range of excercises to work all the muscles...

Weighted situps.
Crunches
Twisted crunches (Intercostals and Obliques)
Hanging raises

Also lookup core body excersises for the hidden abs muscles

If you want to build up you abs then dont waste time crunching out 100's add some weight and perform strict form reps 8-12 is you goal.

You will need to increase you protein levels to help rebuild the muscle.

The final and the the most crucial point is fat loss. To see your abs you need to get you body fat % down to 12% to see some definition and 9% or lower for ripped abs.

Without the fat loss you wont see them even with the best ab muscles on the planet
