Hi All,
Has anyone seen the Daily Express headline today regarding the little girl Maddy that is missing? Did it irk anyone else that they just had to write 'arab' in there. Why could it not have been 'abducted on a luxury yacht?'
I see no reason for this other than sensationalism and provocation and it left a nasty taste in my mouth. Or am I perhaps just on my soap box and should step down?
I just found it very irritating.
Cheers

CD - in this case, I think that it would be justified giving as much information as possible in the faint hope that it narrows down the hunt for Maddy's abductors.
Also it's nice to see the Express printing a story which isn't about Princess flippin' Diana!!!

How odd.... Why wouldn't he give the name? Anyway...
I'm still not sure I agree Sp1814, I don't think it needed to be on the front page like that. As a sub-headline to the story on the same page then I don't have any real problem with it because as you say it narrows it down. But it's not like it needs to be on the front page; I think everyone is going to read anything to do with Maddy without it needing to be sensationalised that way.
But perhaps I'm just having a narky day...
(And yes, agree with the Diana statement 100%)
