Im squemish and faint having an injection. Plus I hate seeing people suffer.
I never used to like going to hospitals, but then earlier this year, after numerous visits for tests and stuff I was diagnosed with cancer.
I had two operations within two weeks which both required overnight stays, followed by daily visits for almost seven weeks for chemo and radiotherapy, and lots of other visits for examinations and the like.
Although I would prefer not to have to go in anymore, I have to say that being in for the operations was actually quite pleasant! I took a book to read and did su doku and basically had a relaxing two days.
During all my visits to the hospital I was looked after by the most wonderful bunch of people in the world at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. I really can not thank them enough. And although I did thank them every time they did anything for me during any of my visits (which are still ongoing) I hope some of them are reading this, because I will never forget their kindness and professionalism.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I love hopital's,
They mended my left arm when I broke it in three places.
They mended my right wrist when I broke that.
They stitched up my right knee when I severely cut it.
They cured me of oesophageal Cancer 7 years ago.
They stitched up my left cheek (face) when I cut it felling a tree.
If you had used them like me you would love them not hate them.

Toureman, I have spent a lot of my life going in and out of hospitals, visiting my father and mother who were both very ill at the time, during my own 4 year battle against against bone and other cancers, then through the nearly four year battle to save my son's life from brain cancer, which sadly ended in his death. So I have truly been there, done that ... and still I do not like going into hospital. I have great respect for most of the staff in hospital, but have also seen the many mistakes that are made. It was these mistakes that cost my son his life three days before his 21st birthday. But as much as really I do not like hospitals, I have to try to as I am soon going in for two major operations to replace both knees. I am very frightened of going in but also know that there is no way I can get around this if I want to continue walking and living a fairly normal life. I look after my soon to be 90 year old mum and without these operations I will not be able to do this much longer. That would mean her having to go into a Residential / Care home and neither she nor I want that. Congratulations on your treatment success Toureman. A big "Well done!" to the hospital staff and to you!
gazzawazza, I know what you are going through is not easy and really hope you are doing well. There are far more of us cancer survivors out there than most people think. So take courage and do everything you can to work with the doctors and nurses. The vast majority are very dedicated and do a fantastic job! I truly wish you and your family every success and many years of happiness for the future. xx :o)
