I'm asking because I got hit on the foot last night by a dart, it punctured the little toe on my left foot, made it bleed at the time. This morning my toe is bruised and it really hurts to walk. My shoe is pressing on it making me limp, but I'm going to feel such an idiot when someone asks me why Im limping.

My husband dislocated his thumb folding down a double pram - the very firat time we took our new babies for a walk in fact.
He came staggering in to tell me but as I was trying to feed them both myself at that moment, i barely lifted my head and told him he'd better get himself to a doctors then.
A couple of weeks later he was so sleep deprived he slammed down the car boot and didn't step back, so split his head open.
Lack of sleep affected us all - i was once heating up feeds in the middle of the night and poured the freshly boiled kettle over my wrist to check the temp, instead of the warmed milk.

Reading all these has made me laugh and cringe equally, so thanks AB'ers. But do you know, I've been limping around the office all day, and not a single person has asked why. Callous lot!!
Thank you all, I am crying with laughter, i really did need cheering up.
Here's my slightly deceitful one.
When I was about 10 I was climbing up the walls of an alleyway, with one foot on each side, (as you see on TV), as I did this my mate thought it would be really funny to pull my foot away, I broke my wrist. I told my mum, I'd fallen off the kerb.

Fast forward a few years, I was in a roller skating hockey team, I was very good and very keen, unfortunately I fell one day and seriously injured my knee. I was in this huge elastic bandage from ankle to thigh and on crutches.
I'd had this for about 2 weeks and was very bored, so I went to watch my mates skating. Anyway thought I would get away with a quick whizz round , I didn't. First time round I fell over and broke my wrist (again). I knew mum was gonna be mad so I went to bed with a broken wrist and didn't tell her to the morning...oops
Well Ive certainly learnt something from all this........not only is 4get accident prone....shes evil! lol Electrocuting your lil sis? lol redcrx you shouldve "accidently" slipped with her tea that night so she ended up wearing after finding out she didnt bother to come out and check to see if you were ok! lol

As for me, I learnt the hard way about running in the school corridors. I was only about 5 or 6 and went charging down the main corridor at my school. The only thing is I couldnt stop and ended up crashing into the little wash basins at the end of the corridor! Still got the scar on my left eyebrow! lol
This has had me in stitches today. The best one is whiskeysheri with her arms clingfilmed - I cried laughing at that one!

My brother once threw a dart at my younger sister. He'd been doing it to 'just' miss her and stick in the floorboards a few times, but hit her in the thigh. The dart stood upright, it was in so far. We all just stared in horror for a few seconds before she screamed the roof off.

Another time, same sister and I were racing across a field. I stopped cause she was winning, then noticed a single wire fence thing up ahead and shouted to her to stop. She didn't, and did a fantastic Wile E Coyote type, bending over double, comedy catapult kind of thing! It looked like her head and her toes almost touched in front of her in mid-air, then she PINGed backwards onto the ground! The best bit was that she STILL didn't see it and just sat there, puzzled, while I was helpless a few yards behind!! We still laugh about it now, and even more so because we noticed afterwards that it was an electric fence - just not turned on. What a fantastic accident THAT would have been!!
I'm actually scared of electricity nowadays although I must say, electric fences aren't as strong as mains electricity! I was in a house on my own one day when I should have been at school and I couldn't find a lighter to light my roll up, turned the bar fire on to get a light and the roll up fell into it so that it was lying in the bottom, underneath the bars and in line with them; since I had only just turned the thing on i thought great, it won't be hot yet, I'll just quickly pull it out, low and behold my finger hit the bar and I flew back about 8 feet onto the couch and sat there for a minute wondering what had happened then started laughing hysterically that I had cheated death!
As a teenager I used to *cough* miss school........and one day fell off the kerb in town and broke my ankle...........as I was limping my way to the bus-stop that took me home, on the other side of the road, wondering quite how to tell my parents, a group of kids ran passed knocking me over and into the Butchers shop........I lost what little grip which I had on the sawdust and fell into his shop and broke my other ankle.
I ended up in hospital, and as I lay there with both legs in plaster my Dad had to pull my Mum away who was battting me round the head for *cough* missing school. Needless to say I missed out on 'Mummy kindness' right until I got better !
On the theme of electricity..........the youngest of my brothers happily chewed through a live electric cable! He wasnt worried til our oldest sister saw the sparks flying and screamed! Doctors said he was actually very lucky to survive! The only thing is now he has no taste buds and enjoys chewing on paper! This is because after the incident and surgery, he was constantly drooling and was told to chew on toilet tissue to stop the dribble!

I can always remember family holidays.....theres me on the long journey with my bag of boiled sweets......and my brother with his 4 pack of toilet rolls!
pmsl.

I have a real laugh reading the rest of these this morning.

Thanks everyone
i was up a set of steps fitting a chandalier for my mother in law and as i'm no electrician i made a few mistakes 'till i got it right, but the biggest mistake was asking my father in law to pull the fuse out before touching the wires. yes you guessed it, he pulled the wrong one!! now i know what it's like when someone has their heart restarted with those jump leads they use in ER!!
