OK excuse my ignorance before we start but how much of the da vinci code is true??Did Jesus really have a daughter with Mary Magdelene??

Biblically no. Within Christian tradition there is no record of this - or of Jesus having a child with anyone. But there has been a long running rumour about Jesus and Mary Magdelene having a child.

There is no proof that he did, it is purely conjecture - but the da vinci code is based on a long established rumour rather than something just invented by the author (if that helps at all!)

In the factual story of Masada, again a possible fiction meant to help the authors story, three bodies were supposedly found, and these were named as Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and their child, of course, no proof was established.

the rumour is based on certain things, for instance at that time, it would have been notable if Jesus had not been married, as it is not stated that he wasn't it is likely (runs the argument) that he was and the only likely woman who is mentioned is Mary Magdalene. Jesus' position then was dangerous both to himself and his associates, so if he did have a wife and child they would have been carefully protected and hidden from the authorities, certainly if his wife did appear close to him it would have been safer for her to be represented as someone other than his wife. no he did not. mary magdelene was a prostitute and this book was very good but false. christianity is something you guys should learn about. a very great book is called more then a carpenter. trust me it is easy to understand and you will learn the truth of god... if you care
