Time has come to buy my first shed. Only want a small one 5' x 7' as I already have a suitable base in the garden for it. What type of shed is best? I have had a quick look online and see they vary, in type, price etc. Can anyone recommend where to buy one online at a good price? If they assembled it aswell as delivered it would also be a bonus! Thanks all!
Hi Madmondeo - I would advise that you put the key things (eg. lawn mower, bikes etc.) that you intend to keep in your shed on the base, it seems very small to me, you'll be surprised at how quickly it fills up - I would consider extending the base and having more room in your shed. Likewise ensure that which every type of shed you buy the "walls" are load bearing and can take shelving for smaller items.
To be honest I only have a few things to put in it, one bike, car cleaning stuff, few bits of wood, and maybe some tools. Its just so I can clear the stuff out the garage where my car is.
Would buy a tongue and groove shed more expensive but will last for years , also make sure it is put on bearers (raises it off the base ) to keep the vermin out . Most of the suppliers deliver and erect as part of the price .Hope it helps .
Ha- only a few things to put in it!! It is an unwritten law with sheds that things to put in it multiply at an alarming rate and more than fill the available space in next to no time!
If you are worried about price the local DIY stores such as Focus or Homebase usually offer good value. I bought an 8 x 6' shed from them for less than 100.
Have you also considered one of those plastic type sheds for no maintenance and easy erection.
