Imposter?

In the "report an answer" menu, what does the "imposter" option mean? Isn't it a bit dramatic?
Stop you've made a spelling error, you imposter.

people that have used other people names i.e someone that came on 4getmenot. would be trying to be me

It's to report people that adapt a name that is almost but not exaclty the same as an existing use. For example if I was to adopt the name xr0ads nd then pretend to be you then you could complain.

I have been imposterered about 12 times and the imposterers were deliberately posting insults and abuse in ordinary threads, of course some people actually believed it was me and it got a bit annoying. The ed usually deletes these ids but sometimes they have been registered for more than 2 weeks and the first time they post the id is already grey, and so there is a srrange kind of pre-mediation involved that makes you wonder what kind of kick they get out of even bothering.
