do yopu think it would be ok to paper over a textured paint ceiling ,its my lads bedroom and we need to find a cheap option other than having the plasterer in

I hate artex too, but cleversod is right you are better leaving it until you can afford it, just give it a coat of paint for now.

I got my textured ceiling painted and it looks like new! You get a thing to do it with though rather than a brush or roller. It kind of looks like a rectangular trowel, and you put the paint on the flat bit and spread it about! Ask in B+Q or somewhere similar for the proper name of it!

It was just ordinary paint we used to paint over the ceiling, it didnt cover up the texture, it just freshened it up with a coat of paint
