Further to my earlier question about the respective merits of Spybot and Ad-Aware, I've now installed Spybot and run a system check. It has disposed of a bit of unnecessary junk but there are some things it reports but says it cannot remove. These are three Registry items named "H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Speedbit/Download accelerator/etc,etc". I used to have Download Accelerator Plus installed but got rid of it ages ago. What are these items? Why can't Spybot deal with them? Is it OK to edit them out myself?

In regedit.exe, first make a backup copy of your registry, then you can search for the word 'speedbit' then delete the reference. Continue searching the registry, by pressing F3 and delete every reference to the program.
