I struggled with Pasquale in the Guardian on Saturday then both the Times and Guardian (Araucaria) on Wednesday and I still don't understand some of the answers. Did any one else find these crosswords difficult? Can anyone throw light on the following?
(a) Loth to remove party from reactor site and insert number (7) Unready. -This presumably has something to do with Dunrea (b) 0s coming out from cannon metal ? (7) Gunshot. (c) Turned up as reformed characters do, losing face (7) Endways (d) Old farmer reportedly cheers on arrest of very, very young thugs (6,4) Bovver boys (e)Belief a tiny dose one too big to be knocked back (5)Dogma (f) Treble four thrown, securing game (10) Battledore
For b) I read the 0s initially as meaning bone, but the character is a zero and not a letter "o" ; as gunshot is made up of round metal spheres, could this be the reasoning ?
That just leaves clue (b). I cut and pasted the clues directly from the online crosswords . Whether the compiler meant it to be a "0" or an "O" is another thing. I'll put these out as separate question and see what response we get.
