ram - dram?????

How can I find what kind of RAM I have on 'my computer'. I've looked every where in the control panel, but cannot find anything. As I wish to add to it, I would like to know what I need. I looked in google crucial, but it gives no indication if it's RAM - DRAM - DDRAM etc. Where on my computer can I find out.

Crucial, Kingston, MR Memory ... all provide very simple tools to Id which memory you require...
Their business it selling you memory so it realy is simple

If you can't make sense of their results ...... I sugest you take the box to PC world - or your local neighbourhood Computer shop ... and get them to do it for you.

'cause I suspect if you do get the right memory your next question is almost certainly going to be what tool you need to get into the big boxy thing with lights on

Thank's AC, Yes it was the second attempt, If you read my first one, you will see that 'bdol4886346', told me all about what his computer did. and I did go th 'google crucial' and it just told me that I had 256RAM (which I knew). I was pleased that he answered, but didn't tell me what I wanted to know.
I do appreciate the sarcasm in your first answer, and take it as you ment it (a joke-- Ihope).
Your second part is what I'm looking for, and I am quite capable of taking the side off of the boxy thing with the lights on ( using a monkey Wrench or two pound hammer), and in fact adding the cards needed.
I have been to the web page you sited, and copied the info.

256 Megabytes Installed Memory

Slot �A0� has 256 MB
Slot �A1� is Empty
Slot �A2� is Empty
Slot �A3� is Empty

I wanted to know if they were - DRAM SDRAM, so I know what to order.

I think I will have to do what AC say's, take it out and count the pins.

Thanks ALL, I done what I obviously should have in the first place, phoned the computer company, I have SDRAM. I did learn acouple of things, being 'google critical' and 'Belac Advisor', so the time wasn't wasted after all. Thanks again all who answered.
