Getting his own back

A beautiful young woman walked into a busy bar and sat next to a man who was obviously very impressed by her appearance. Turning towards her, the man asked if he could buy her a drink.

'Sleep with you?', she called out loudly, 'Just what kind of a person do you think I am?'. And with that she walked away and sat at an empty table.

Customers stared at the highly embarrased man at the bar, who wished nothing more than that the floor would open and swallow him up.

A short time later, the young woman rose, and came back over to the man. 'I'm terribly sorry about that', she said quietly, 'but I'm doing a study on psychology and I wanted to see the reaction of the other customers to my statement. I do hope you'll forgive me?'.

At that, the man stared her in the eye and shouted, 'How much??? You must be bloody joking!!!'.
