Where do I stand if I was reversing out of my driveway, watching for any pedestrians and a women living several doors away from me came driving along the pavement where people are supposed to walk in order to use the dropped kerb outside my house, rather than use one which is closer to her house. and we collided.
I would think you have a better case than her.
Dropped pavements are for the benefit of householders getting in and out of their premisies,NOT for a convenient way to illegally park on the pavement..and definitely not for driving on.As a motorist, she should have been aware of movement from a drive, after all, that could have a kid on a tri-cycle.
Having said that,I can't understand why people don't reverse their cars in
Taking up keeprockings point, it is illegal to reverse on to a main rd, and as you are on a driveway, you are making an illegal move by reversing onto the road. having said that I would think the other person is at fault as she sould not be driving on the pavement, but Im afraid it will probably be knock fer knock.
