Warbling Noise

I get a warbling noise through my speakers (connected to my soundcard) every time there is some animation on my PC screen. It sounds as though the actual loudspeaker cones are being gently tapped with the fingers. It hapens with any activity on the screen, typing, moving the cursor and worst of all that poxy "500 free texts a month" to the right of this. Any one throw some light on the problem? It happens even with the monitor switched off.

Not sure if this will help. But, are you using a cordless keyboard/mouse? If you are, try moving your speakers to a different position (away from the K/B and mouse) -- it may be caused by "feedback".

I am using a cordless kb and mouse. But one speaker is above them about 2mtrs away and the other is at the other side of the room and the noise is coming out of both, and my cordless headphones.

Feedback occurs when using unshielded speaker cables, sometimes re-routing them away from other items cures the problem. Alternatively it could be a sound card compatability problem,some Soundblaster cards have problems with VIA based motherboards.
