Please, where can I ask a question about collectors and their collections? We have come into a collection of motoring ashtrays (I know!) and playing cards and I should like to know if they are of any value, but where on earth do I look!? Thanks in advance.

there's a Hobbies section buried inside Society & Culture
The relevant section of AB would probably be 'Hobbies & Interests', under 'Society & Culture'. (Hint: To see all of the sub-categories offered by AB, click on 'Topics', at the top left of your screen).

Any local auctioneer will be able to give you a free valuation of your items but it might be best to contact a specialist firm. The owner of the 'Old Classic Car' website might well know of a firm which deals in motoring memorabilia. He welcomes mail and can be contacted at this address:

Sorry I've been so long answering - dusting! Thank you both for your answers - jno, don't you think the AB editor could consider having a section for collectors and their collections (!) - and your suggestion, Chris, was extremely helpful indeed! When I've finished dusting all this lot, I will certainly sit down and have a long browse through it. Cheers!
