Anyone got any tips on filling out the back page of a Application Form. You know the page that ask why you would like the vacany, I either write to much or not enough. I need something, thats going to stand out and help me Just make it to the Interview stages. Thankyou

I have often said stuff along the lines of
"I would very much appreciate your time in considering my application.
I can offer you an honest, dedicated, hardworking , open minded team -player who is willing to learn.......blah blah........
You will see that my experience in ...blah blah.....means I would have the opportunity to demonstrate my skills as...blah blah.
Again, thankyou for considering me for the post as blah blah ......."

you need to go through the information sent with the application form (the list of job criteria needed) and try to cover with examples of how you can do everything it says they are looking for. Most employers when shortlisting will just be looking for someone who ticks all the boxes of what they need to person to be able to do. If you dont feel you can do something, it is usually quite easy to relate it to something of a different context that you can do and embelish it a bit (EG: if you need to be able to have working knowledge of computer systems and you havent, you could say how use used computer systems extensively for your college coursework etc and beef it up a bit). Just dont bother writing any waffle, make sure everything you write is relevant and most importantly relevant to the post for which you are applying!

Write it out first and check your spelling. I recently interviewed someone for a post and they had made no effort to find out about the company so maybe you could mention what you know.(or have found out by surfing on the net. ) Try to find things that are specific to them like: company values and how they appeal to you. Small piece of advice if you get to interview stage have some info in mind for these questions: how are you a team player, give examples of how you dealt with a difficult customer. Lastly, don't wear too much makeup(if a female) or aftershave/bodyspray (if male). Make eye contact, smile and try and make sure your hands are dry and warm. Nothing more offputting than a wet fish handshake. Lots of luck and stick with it. The perfect job is out there somewhere for you. Hope this helps

following Bimbo's reply Eastender, I think having one or two good, interesting questions for them when they ask "have you got any questions?" is always a good one.
Make them questions to get you noticed.
