Think I was caught speeding this morning by a mobile speed van. His bonnet was facing towards me and he was parked on the central reservation. Is it true they can only clock your speside and back?

I am also only in the first two years of driving, I was told that there was a probation for the first 2 yrs and wondered if I will get normal fine and 3 points or more?

Can anyone help?

rev, people may have done 30 in a 30 area or 42 in a 40 area but miller did 45 in a 30 area, slightly different dont you think

sorry meant 33 in a 30 area
baremission.

Why did you find the need to pull me up on the wrong wording {their instead of there}?

Was it because i mentioned the highway code to you?

I would be very concerned if i was in a car you was driving due to your ''mind'' wandering. Is this because you are tired/fatigue, retention span, alcohol or drugs.

Not nice trying to make an ar$e of someone is it sunshine
Gina breaking the limit is breaking the limit lol
blimey, and people think i have a stick up my arse! over 40 posts of people moralising without actually bothering to answer millers question!
If you are on a main road, but are not sure if it is a 30 or 40 limit, forget the rubbish about lamp posts.

Just look down a smaller side road.

If it has a 30 sign, you are in a 40.

If there is no speed limit sign you are already inside a 30mph area.
i totally agree breaking the limit is breaking the limit but what im saying is doing 15 miles over the limit is a lot more than 3 over the limit, i think youd notice by the speed a the differnt amount
Not sure how they'd clock you coming towards the bonnet end unless they've got different vans to the ones Cumbria and Cambridgeshire have.

They can't "shoot" through the windscreen so usually either do it from an open window at the back or one on the side. Checked with the Cumbria lot over that the first time I spotted one when I was doing about 80 towards it.

Watch out if you're in Cambridgeshire as the vans are smaller and harder to spot than the Cumbria ones on the A14.
