Tattoos

I am looking to get a very small tattoo on my inner wrist but I am currently in my final year of university and once I've graduated I'll be looking for a job in marketing.Does anyone think that having a tiny tattoo there will affect my employability? I already have one on my back but thankfully that will be covered up!

I quite fancy a tattoo on my wrist too and am in the stages of umming and ahhing about it. It's the pain and the thought of it being permanent that has stopped me tho.

May just get my belly button pierced instead :o)

Personally I think if anyone thinks having a tattoo doesn't set a good impression then they have issues. Its not like turning up stinking of booze is it?

You could get one now or wait. Unfortunately there are lots of people with these issues surrounding tattoos and believing that makes you an unsavoury character. So I would make sure its not overly visible. When I have been for interviews I have always put retainers in the visible piercing holes and made sure tattoos arent obvious.

I have a tattoo on my shoulder, usually at work it is out and proud but if I have important meetings I cover it, i have quite an important job and have to attend legal stuff.
I think there is still alot of issues around employment and tattoos, I'd just make sure that you are able to cover it for interview and at work if possible.
I'm debating getting barbed wire around my arm.

Thanks for all the answers you lot! Still needs a lot of thought but I want another one so badly! I could cover it up with my watch and use plenty of concealer. As for the person who said I'd already answered my question by saying thankfully I can cover my other one up,its only because its quite a large tattoo so it's only right it should be covered at work (I probably should have mentioned before!).

I think you should do what YOU want to do - in my job I deal with suppliers, clients, give high profile presentations and deal with the public too - and Ive got one on my forearm which is about 3 inches by 1 inch and is highly noticeable - the only response Ive had about it from the bosses and directors at work is "Wow thats gorgeous" or "Thats really unusual" (its a cyber-angel, its beautiful!)

I would personally go for it - You can easily wear a long sleeve top if youre dealing with a client etc. Failing long sleeves, you could just wear a plaster to cover it - I always carry a wad of them JUST in case though Ive never needed to, or as its your wrist, a thick strapped watch, cuff, bracelet.... its easy to cover small ones so dont worry about it.

I would echo the point made by a few people - make sure you REALLY want it, but as you say its very small so I certainly wouldnt worry

Why don't you get a tattoo OF a watch, with the face facing inwards: some people wear their wrist-watch that way. Trouble is, it will always show the same time. Anyway, if you wanted to hide the tattoo, you could always cover it with a watch identical to the tattooed one.
