what does a dishwasher weigh?

I need to know so that I can get a courier to pick one up for me. I've tried all kinds of internet searches but can't find the weight of any dishwasher!
Most couriers say the maximum weight is 30kg, but i've no idea how heavy that is! x

As Kwicky indicates, dishwashers weigh more than 30Kg (which is about 5 stone 10 pounds). Courier companies usually have only one driver per vehicle and most vehicles don't have tail lifts. The 30Kg limit is imposed for health & safety reasons. (Lifting nearly 6 stone on your own, off the back of a van, is hard work!).

The Bosch dishwashers, which Kwicky refers to, weigh about 8� stone. It's a two man job to move one, preferably with the aid of a tail lift. Forget the 'Courier Services' heading in Yellow Pages. Instead, look under 'Removals & Storage - Domestic'; that's where you'll find the firms with two-man vehicles with tail lifts.

When we move home we always use a sack barrow to move white goods. This together with a tail lift on the truck means no heavy manhandling is necessary.
