Otherwise, i was wondering why it was no longer "Myanmar". I guessed that either no-one knew where the hell Myanmar was or it was an "up yours" to the current regime.
As for Bushy, I suspect that the Yanks are itching to go into Burma. C Rice was castigating the country a while back, and the propaganda machine has started: in "Stealth" there is a meeting of terrorist masterminds in Rangoon, and the upcoming "Rambo" film has Stallone taking on the Burmese army...

Burma was officially renamed by the junta in 1989 to Myanmar.
Expect the US govt and others to apply pressure to China, who have been a supporter of the curent military junta, providing arms and diplomatic support in the UN, to use this political and economical influence with Myanmar's ruling generals to improve it's human-rights practices and release the winner of the 1990 elections (Aung San Suu Kyi) from house arrest.
