internet explorer

whenever i click onto internet explorer i keep getting a page saying that my privacy has been compromised and that they have evidence of "sites" i have visited, (which i hadn`t) and to click here to clear it.... i know it is spam,, but can anybody tell me how to get rid of it and anything like it

Sounds like something has changed the default page for Internet Explorer

Load up Internet Explorer.
Select Tools -> Internet Options
Where it says Home Page Address select the Default button.
Click Apply.

If that doesn't work, type http://www.google.co.uk into the address box and click Apply.

try mozilla firefox, don't use internet explorer again :

visit www.lavasoft.com and run adaware. That will shift it. I run that at least once a month.
