hi, beware of leaving tiscali. I left them just before christmas, went to pipex as they offered a good deal. I gave tiscali notice of leaving, and requested a migration number. pipex said it would take tiscali a couple of weeks to give me the number. I was paying by direct debit, so kept paying tiscali while I was waiting to change over.I sent tiscali e-mails, but the didn't respond. I phoned them a couple of times and finally got a migration number. I gave this to pipex and the said the service would change over in a couple of weeks. my new broadband modem arrived and I started using pipex. A couple of weeks later I got my usual bill from tiscali, which was paid by direct debit. the following month I got another bill from tiscali, and they took the payment from the bank. I cancelled my direct debit with them. the following month I got a letter from them asking WHY I had stopped my direct debit. then came the threatening letters. I phoned them up many times, and eventually a man looked into it. he said that I had overpaid by a month, and he would pass it to his accounts dept, BUT he didn't think they would refund my money as it was at their discretion. they are now sending threats via a debt collection agaency, and I am sending them straight into the waste paper basket, not even replying. so if you leave tiscali, keep notes of dates, times, names etc.
good luck, alf.
