Why do nearly 80% of people close eyes when kissing?

I lost my consciousness for several seconds when a girl kissed me. Well, kissing is a simple thing. Why should that happen?

I have to keep mine open a bit as my hubby is very agrivating and sometimes moves in for a kiss but blows up my nose instead!

But when I know it's same I close them! Sometimes a 'gobe with the wind' kiss is appropriate when he grabs me, flings me backwards and does that closed mouth frantic thing! But that's only for special occasions!

Seeing someone up that close might not be too pretty either... Especially if they have something up their nose.

Depends if they are ugly or, what part of the body is being kissed ???
