Sharm El Sheikh - any recommendations for hotel?
6 Answers
Hi folks,
I'd like to send my parents to SES for a surprise but I want a really really special hotel. Specifically, the one with the best all inclusive food. Most of the 'truth' websites I've looked at don't really help as none really rate the food positively.
Thanks in advance

I'd suggest e-mailing them and asking who their main UK agents are.
I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Sharm, and talked to people who among them have stayed in scores. Sharm hotels are almost without exception great. The Four Season.... I hear it stupendous.

i've checked it out - you're right it's ab fab but a bit out of my price league!
but i can rest assured from what you say that most of the others will be fab too - these are the ones i've shortlisted - have u stayed in any of them:
hilton dreams, crowne plaza, jaz mirabel beach, hyatt regency.

Well, you said you wanted quality! :-)
If the 4 Seasons is too much (which I quite understand), how about the Hilton Fayrouz (agent: Explorers), Novitel, Hyatt or Movenpick?
p.s. No sorry I have not stayed in any of those you list... I tend to stay in a little specialist scuba-diving hotel in downtown, or at a mates house.
The Hilton Waterfalls is just over the road from the Hilton Fayrouz. good location... as long as you're happy crossing an Egyptian highway a few times a day... no big deal.
Think of Sharm as being... somewhere where you want to stay in a resort hotel and not really have to leave, OR somewhere where you go and want to get out and about a bit. The former would be the big hotels out of Naama bay, the latter... in Naama Bay. There is no insurmountable problem getting from the big outlying hotels into town... just I prefer to walk where I'm going... and I'm totally sick of arguing with local taxi drivers!
