Depends how well you know the bricklayer, the last wall i built was a labour of love. ( many many years ago )
But joking aside a lot depends on how accessable it is, ie getting materials to it, dismantling old wall and clearing the debris, height and type of bricks to be used,
if it's just a straight plain wall I'm sure some young apprentice brickie would jump at the chance of making a few quid on the side,
Thank you for that. All the debris's been moved though, as it could've been dangerous for children and animals. I'm afraid I don't know any builders or their apprentices, as we haven't had to call in anyone like this before. The wall was part of a boundary which opens up into woodland, and there's easy access to it. The wall stands about 6ft. high. I'd personally prefer a stone wall, but then it means downing the rest, & we're probably talking about a 200 ft. length, which'd be expensive. I was trying to get a rough price.
The cost of sand, cement and any foundations eat up a considerable amount of the outlay. Have you considered a dry stone wall which dispenses with these 3 costs.
