can anybody tell me if i booked a holiday 2 weeks ago to Cuba the doctor wont innoculate does that make my insurance null and void if i should catch anything. please help ta

It shouldn't. However, it's important that you read the policy exclusions. Or if you bought the policy from a broker, have them explain it to you.

You 'may' be able to have your innoculations done at Victoria Station or one of the other walk-in medical services...a bit dear...but worth it.

For what it's worth, I've been in Havannah and the south coast about 10 times in the past 6-7 years. Never once did I have a problem..not much different than going to Miami Florida actually!

one things for sure,if you do fall ill,and havent had the jabs recommended,they wont pay you out a single penny.

Well, this may sound like a bit of a confessional, but since I stopped living in the Middle East, I�ve not really had any further inoculations. According to my World Health Card, I�m pretty much caught up on everything. Having said this, I do carry a prophylaxis pack wherever I travel. Along with a number of other emergency medications, there�s a full series of Quinoline, an anti-malarial tablet.

Personally, I can�t comment on what your doctor said. However, I am the world�s greatest experience in my own opinion. Cuba�s geography is no different than visiting Haiti, Jamaica, or the out islands of the Bahamas. When I travel to those destinations, I tend to not take any preventive medicines prior to or during my journey. Consequently, I have always taken the same position on my trips to Cuba.

I would also share with you that Cuba�s nationalised health system is actually quite good. The facilities may not be as luxurious as some of ours, however, medications of the day-to-day variety are readily available. In fact, just as with many countries, numerous items that are prescription-only here, may be purchased over the counter.
