Having turned on my laptop I am faced with the Windows XP welcome screen with three profiles, mine, my wife's and my son's. It says under my profile pic that I have 3 unread emails. When I hovver over this message it says that the email address in question is my hotmail address. When I log on to Hotmail I have no unread messages. How do I get rid of this message? Also I would prefer it if the unread emails related to my main email account provided by my ISP. How would I do this? Thanks.

Follow these instructions:

You will see you have to use Outlook or Outlook Express for your emails to show properly and if you use multiple accounts it won't work properly anyway.

I would just remove the feature entirely.

Ethel, thanks for the link. As MessageExpiryDays didn't exist I created it then logged off. When I logged back on it still showed the unread emails. Am I able to delete the Unread Emails folder? Not sure of the implications of doing this.Any suggestions?
