I have a spider who is living under my off side wing mirror. I have never seen the little bu66er but everyday he spins his little web between said mirror and the drivers window. Therefore everyday I have to open the window and brush away the web which then hangs in limbo until about 50mph when the wind takes it away.
I have sprayed both hot water and WD40 in behind the mirror but he survives my attacks. Even when I turn the mirrors inwards in parking mode he still manages to spin a web.
Is there anyway I can get rid of the sod without resorting to actually taking the mirror oout of the casing.
That's not to bad, I have had a Dead Daddy Long Legs staring out of one of my headlamps for 2 years, I've even taken the headlight off the car and I can't get it out !
Shouldn't this problem be posted on the " De Bugging " forum?
Seriously, I had this problem and found the answer to be spraying the mirror housing with " Dethlac ".
This is an anti-ant spray that sets like a lacquer so it lasts for a long time, and any insect coming into contact with it is doomed.
NB. Just be sure not to get any on the glass.
Give him a name and call him your pet.
Talk to him.
Apologise to him when you break his web.
It won't cure anything, but you will be less stressed about it.
how d'ya know its the same spider every day shadow man?
my car is the same, i flick my ciggie ash into the web to make it come out then hit it wi something lol
Sharon, my DMS (Door Mirror Spider) has been with me for 6 months now. At first I tried to dislodge her but jet washing and mirror heating were to no avail. I've decided to leave her there as I've not detected any increase in fuel consumption and, let's face it, it's always someone to talk to...
