Saving web pages, pictures
For the last couple of weeks when I have tried to save pictures to the pc it has been reporting errors, saying it cannot find a counter.htm in the
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\ebay
folder. The ebay folder is still there but I suspect that my virus/spyware checker has removed some virus, spyware or adware and thats why it cannot find this counter.htm.
It seems like there is a default setting for a location to save pictures that isnt there any more, i.e when you click "save as" it is looking for something, is that a possibility?
Or is it that something has installed a counter of some kind, and if so is there some way I can prevent this counter thing happening?
The original problem was that very often the pc would not allow me to save web pages complete, so I was saving the pictures from the pages seperately: any ideas why I cannot save complete pages (its not always so, sometimes, they will save complete)?

I did browse the previous questions in this forum and it seems that some web pages cannot be saved anyway, altho just why I do not know.
And yes I could save them in favourites but...
1 I would have a million and 1 favorites, and
2 I would need to be online to view them again IF they still existed (which isnt the case in ebay after the sale has ended unless you won the auction)!
I am trying to make local copies of pages for future reference and for viewing without being online.
But the most troublesome part is the bit about it searching for the counter.htm, for 2 reasons:
1 it cannot find the counter.htm and locks the page up for several minutes, and
2 what the h*ll is this counter doing there in the first place, its definitely some kind of tracking software/spyware/adware/malware that my virus and spyware checkers cannot find and remove.
It is this part that I am trying to prevent.
