Is this contract legit?
5 Answers
I am planning to buy a new contract for my phone. I found this website :
http://www.themobileoutlet.co.uk/handset.asp?t xtMode=3&txtNetwork=3&txtHandset=406&txtTariff =73&code=EROMS
It is a 12 month contract offers a free 12 month free line rental. It gives "500 mins anytime per month to all UK mobile phone networks and UK landlines PLus 250 texts per month".
Is this a trick, or is it legit? How much would I be paying every month/year?

I did a similar deal last year with E2Save, and as long as you remember to send off the relevant bills to claim your cashback you effectively get the full year free. This has worked fine with mine, I've got about 300 back this year in installments, just one left to go.
You do have to make sure you remember to send the bill in and do EXACTLY what they say or they won't pay out though. My boyfriend didn't send his first one off in time and lost out on the whole years repayments - d'oh!

I need to caution you about this. There was a feature on either Watchdog or a simialr show that exposed these contracts. They are legit and they are honest. The challenge is in the frighteningly narrow window of time you must submit things and particularly the pedantic way in which you must follow their rules. If you miss anything...anything...they will reject your agreement...and this is precisely where they make their money from...
I'll snoop on the internet to see if I can find the story..it was about 5 months ago that I saw it..

Here's one of the 'deals' gone wrong...I'll keep looking for one perhaps more specific to your needs.

I think this is the show I watched...

If you already have been with a company for a number of years, you may find that they will immediately cut your monthly rate in half, provide you with a new phone and more free minutes. They did with me. T-Mobile have made a fortune from me over the years. The majorit of that is in overseas receipt and making of calls. Two years ago, there was a month when my mobile bill was just over 700! Thankfully it has never been that bad since.
But I now pay an extremely low monthly rate and have a broad range of credits available that I seldom exceed.
I also save money by using an internet based group for sending and receiving my overseas text messages...that too saves a packet.
Best of luck
