Any good kennal will have no objectons to show you around , in fact they prefer you do to do so before you leave your dogs with them.have a look at a few in your area , make sure you look at how clean dog runs are,if theres fresh water in clean bowls, look at the exercise areas are they secure and ask how often are they exercised ,do they require dogs to be up to date on vacinations , do the dogs in there care when you visit look happy and most of all ask lots of questions . It took me ages to find a kennal I was happy with but it was well worth the research hope this helps GypsyX
A good idea is to make a list of local kennels and visit them, this will give you a good idea of what they are offering. It is also worth ringing around local vets to see if they are able to offer suggestions.
When I was looking for a holiday home for Max, I travelled miles checking kennels and finaly settled on one that most of the guys at the training class recomended, they really look after the dogs and he trots off with the girls as if he's really happy to be away from me. Even tho I know he's well looked after I always feel guilty, even tho he's never there for more the a long weekend.

Hi gypsy nice to see you back on line again, hope everythings OK now
What area, I'll ask on one of my 'doggy' groups for recommendations.
Also, what breed do you have, as some kennels specialise in small/large breeds.

thanks for your replies, its the watford area lankeela and we have two jack russells.
I have a boxer she is 7trys old I have never left her in Kennels, I always put her with dog sitters, it a home from home, most Vets have them advertised, they are just the same cost as a kennel, I pay 10 per day, the smaller the dog the cheaper, but to know my girl is in a loving home and not behind bars is worth every penny
