No, title deeds are almost meaningless now. All deeds are kept on computer at Land Registry.

A charge will be placed over your property and will be mentioned on the deeds if you take out a secured loan.

Unless yours is one of the one million unregistered properties in England and Wales.

If your land is unregistered then you will need to have it registered before a charge can be placed over it. Again, this will make your deeds useless (once you have registered the land)
