Can I fly Direct from Bournemouth International airport to Orkney islands?

I would like next year to fly direct from Bournemouth airport to the Orkney islands, does anyone know if there is such a flight??

If you are hoping to avoid Gatwick, and, depending on where you live, you might find that Exeter will give you a better choice. As far as I can see, from Bournemouth the only place you can fly to to connect to Kirkwall is Glasgow. From Exeter you can go to Aberdeen or Inverness too.

In A Pickle has done most of the work for me. I'll just add that your best route might be Ryanair from Bournemouth to Prestick. Then train from Prestwick to Paisley Gilmour Street (changing at Glasgow Central), where you can pick up the link bus for Glasgow Airport, for the flight to Orkney.

The only carrier to fly into Orkney is Loganair a subsidiary of British Airways, it is very expensive and only goes from limited airports, either london or glasgow, edinburgh, inverness and aberdeen.
look at ba.com for availability and prices, usually it is better to book well in advance as the cheaps seats sell out quickly.
Lived there for 5 years, so have plenty of experience of the pricing rip off.....
