Hi!

Can anyone tell me if the Holiday inn in Salford Quays, Manchester is easily accesible to the Lowry? Is it very close walking distance and safe to be walking back from at about 10.30pm at night with kids?
We are going to a show and decided it may be best to stay in Manchester rather than have to drive back home.
I have never been to Manchester before and don't know the place at all.

Or if anyone can reccommend a place cheaper (or fairly cheap) or nearer to The Lowry to stay I would be very greatful :o)

Also posted in travel as wasn't sure which topic would be best! (sorry!)

Thank you :o)

Hiya In A Pickle!! :o)

Thank you for your reply!
We thought the same as you when we read it was a mile but looking at GoogleEarth they look much closer, It still certainly looks the best option (closest) and quite reasonably priced for the night for 4 of us so I think we will go with that one. We will be there during the day so are going to go find the Lowry and will take your advice if it is a bit further because of the canals etc.

We've actually been given these tickets as a last min Crimbo present so decided we would make the most of it and stay over night as this is something we have never done before with the kids, I'm actually getting excited over seeing Chesney Hawkes in panto!! lol

Sorry I've waffled! Thanx for taking the time to look the link and the maps up for me IAP, very kind of you and I hope you have a lovely Christmas xxx
