Im looking to buy a new digital camera, im willing to spend up to 200, i want one with at least 7megapixels, and also one that has the ability to record videos with sound, if anyone has any recommendation please let me know, im looking to take it to new york so i want one with good quality that takes pictures quickly, any answers appreciated. Thanks
i bought my father a panasonic lumix tz3 (i think) for xmas and its very highly related with a good quality mega zoom lens and 7 million mega pixels, not sure about the video with sound though. paid 170 for it via kelkoo.co.uk
if you're going to new york .... you'll need one that's bullet proof.
I'd always start looking in the supermarket ..... in the magazine section. Most PC mags as well as (believe it or not) photographic mags will review loads of cameras .... and split those reviews by price.
(.... a good camera is only good for the person who likes it. My trusty camera I've used in 1000s of museums and at weddings (low artificial light) could be useless for you to use on the beach or at formula1 races)
then you need a trip to jessops to touch and feel the thing in your hand.
If it's going to follow you everywhere .... perhaps the weight or size will be a factor ......
finally google the make/model and get a decent price ;-)
canon ixus 65 or 70 are very good camera's. i have an ixus 60, my brother a 70. both almost idenical apart from higher megapixels. high quality mulit-mode video shooting (compact/fast frame/normal +) and pretty much everything you'd ever want need for normal shooting modes
Agree with gucciman, just got the Panasonic TZ3 for Christmas - excellent camera (unless you want manual controls), but it does have many different 'scene' settings. 7 mega pixels and a big 10x zoom. Even the flash seems very good. Uses its own battery though, not AAs. Going to buy an extra one for about a tenner. It has an external charger so I can charge one battery while using the other.
