Like solar panels on roofs you mean?
Wind generators Methane generators (if you have a source of methane i.e. manure) Solar panels ...they all cost money though to set up.

Some electricity companies guarantee to use a certain amount of renewable energy for your household supply, in return for a slightly higher bill (1 per month seems to ring a bell).

Try http://www.uswitch.com/ to see if there is one in your area. This is the easuest and cheapest way to do your bit.

Ring up your supplier and tell them you want to go Veggie, oh, sorry green.

A lot of the major suppliers can offer a 'green' rate although what constitutes green is dubious. And of course you will pay a premium for it as if we don't already for Gas and Electricity in the UK.

Friends of the Earth has researched green energy suppliers and has produced a league table to help you decide which are best: http://www.foe.co.uk/campaigns/climate/press_for_change/choo se_green_energy/index.html
Be careful. All UK Energy suppliers claiming to sell you 'green electricity' are all blurring the reality of this. All green generation goes into the grid, where it goes no one knows. So to say you are only getting green is simply not true, unlesss you are connected directly to the generator (which is very rare). The best way if you are really comitted is to by solar panels, heat pumps, wood stoves or bio fuel boilers.
