I recently received a new credit card from Barclays with a limit of 240, which shocked me as I held a card previously with them with a limit of 8000.
I have read lots recently about a sharp increase in credit rejections due to the credit crisis affecting banks.
I have been living in my current rented flat for about 2 and a half years now, and am due to move out next week.
If I take myself off the electoral roll at the current address and re-register at the new, and start afresh, does anyone know if my credit score will increase?
Probably not - if you apply for any credit, you usually need to supply details of last 3 years address so would still have to give details of your old place.
It might increase if you use your credit card lots, for weekly shopping etc and pay it off in full every month.
Barclaycard are being very strict now. They withdrew my option to withdraw cash a few months ago, now thy've reduced my credit limit. I'm not in arrears and never have been, they say they are being "responsible lenders" and making sure I do not have any future problems. I'll be finishing with them asap. Don't need nannying thank you.
