A prize for the first person to try and change the subject to booze!

Correct me if I'm wrong, your mother is deceased, she drank (if not to excess) then to the point that you'd seek to mention it, weed has kept you away from stronger drugs. Your interest and temptation towards stronger drugs (to the casual observer) suggests that you have a predisposition to inebriants. You can wriggle about as much as you like, you can seek to attack me if you like but you still have'nt answered the question as to why you're not heading down the path your mother trod? Please answer the question.
My mistake about the reading thing duly noted.
I'm glad I amuse you but as Gandhi said "first they laugh at you, then they attack you and then..."

Fairly amusing on Louis Theroux this evening.
Whilst interviewing a thug who opennly admitted to torturing victims of burglary to extract safe codes etc, when asked if he spent the money on drugs the prisoner looked aghast.
Drug taking was worse in his satanic eyes that anally inserting shotguns in to victims and drwoning their children in hot tubs.
I am at odds whether to actually agree with him or not and at present my own personal jury are deliberating.

Christ and they say alcohol makes you repeat yourself, maybe that should be alcoholics make you repeat yourself, as indeed by your own logic everton you have an alcohol problem - I will NOT discuss any member of my family with you - do you want your family brought into it?

I don't feel I'm an alcoholic (I won't drink now until Friday) I don't drink in the afternoon (unless there's a match on) but who knows? Maybe you're right, or maybe you should read the bit about sobrierty and how one will not find the answers at the bottom of a glass and if one must solve a problem they should do it whilst sober. I keep answering your questions...
All the things I cited are things you volunteered to reveal to a group of perfect strangers on a froth and bubble website discussing a moderately interesting subject.
I'm not asking you to discuss your family, weed has saved you from stronger drugs, you are not heading down the path towards addiction, discuss.

For how long are you iritated "when nothing's available" before you succumb and get some?
I used to smoke, whenever I gave up and I would have small cravings which would gradually get worse.
I can go weeks months without a drink and not bat an eyelid, I was engaged to a non-drinker, for 2 years, and hardly touched a drop.
Do you not see that within the first sentence is the clue to your condition?
You began this thread by talking about the truth about drugs by referring to a book. I'm happy to give you the last word if you can end it by telling us the truth about your "habit" by referring only to yourself.

Damn I knew if you kept going long enough you'd catch me out - it's 5 seconds, then I go out mug an old lady, spit on bus drivers and prepare my arm for the works that will surely follow - it all started with one toke then I became a wild-eyed drug crazed zombie intent on bringing about the downfall of society as we know it
I thought I'd just given you what you wanted - the truth doesn't suit you as I have not got any problems with any substances.
You however have by your own admission felt the need to poison your own body with alcohol until you reached a drunken stage' and you succumbed to peer pressure not to drink (the memory obviously still smarts) whilst engaged although the inevitable cravings reared their ugly heads and your relationship ended through your addictions - I didn't want to but now I've lowered myself to your level and now whatever you say I'll assume you are an alcoholic; good luck with getting off it (the alcohol not your head)

Oh dear oh dear, I hardly touched a drop whilst I was engaged because I'm polite, it would be very rude of me to drink whilst I'm accompanying a lady who does'nt. Peer group pressure, I did'nt drink at all the last 2 new years in fact to go further than that, often after a late shift I meet my friends in town for the last 2 or 3 hours of the clubs.
Sincerely Paul, you're post says nothing about you but reveals a whole lot more, I view you as a fool.
Another true story for you to mull. One afternoon I got into a huge fight with a smack head (almost came to blows over whether he should pay or not) we were shouting at each other, calling each other names the air was blue. Finally after about 5 minutes we agreed that I was right and he decided to continue his journey on foot. There was only 1 other person on the bus (a pot head sat near to the front on the nearide) when he came to get off at Goodison Park (wonderous place) I said to him "that was bit of entertainment for you" he looked at me blankly and said "what?" "the row I had 2 minutes ago" I replied. He was completely oblivious, sat in a world of his own and before you say it I knew he was a pot head by the inevitible pin hole burns all down the front of his shirt (as to whether it was his favourite I don't know). Whilst I'm at it an ex-girlfiend of mine her brother was on the wacky baccy all the time he only found out about 9/11 2 days later! The look on his dads' face was a picture!
You look but you don't see, you listen but never hear. I asked you a question about your "habit" you responded with an answer about mine. Discuss...

I know it's a different drug, but a few years ago scientists tested the effect of ecstacy on lab rats. They put them in a pen with three holes in the middle.
A normal rat would mooch around, explore what was in the holes and generally stroll around.
The rat on ecstacy would ignore the holes and just go round and round and round in circles.
That's kind of what this debate has turned into.

Swearing and losing your cool with a 'customer' whilst a paying customer was on the bus - you need to chill out mate, lucky the pothead was more understanding as you could have lost your job
Goodison, I'll agree - I've had many a friendly pint with evertonians before a newcastle game down there (drink as well eh!)
I'm no fool and actually have very open eyes as far as marijuana is concerned and make it my business to be well informed- looks like we'll just disagree on this (quinlad has a point))

He was no customer he was a fare dodger (and not a very good one at that) what he could'nt invegle by stealth he tried to acquire by intimidation (vacant to maniacal) hence the escalation.
You began this thread by advising the correspondents to look up the "truth" by reading a book by someone they'd never met, who would then tell them about his observations and experiences of marijuana, you even go on to quote other worthy tomes for our perusal and consideration.
I'm not interested in what they say about it, I want to hear what you have to say about your habit, your defensiveness and evasiveness smacks (no pun intended) of denial.
I'm genuinely sorry to hear about your mum (I understand you're an atheist, I'm not) but if God let the grey ghost of your mother rise up from the ether and tell you 3 things in ascending order of importance she'd say:- be sober, get clean and that she loves you. Would'nt she?
Paul seriously, lay off the gear for your sake, for your mothers' memory it could turn out to be the wisest most positive move of your life. But are you brave enough to do it? I don't think so...

Drunken tw@t, this thread has nothing to do with religion, however,- did you know it's widely thought that Jesus was annointed with a concoction of Indian Hemp on the cross - your hero a medicinal user !
Why do you feel the need to argue wiith everyone you meet - does this urge subside after you've had a drink?
I'll deny having a problem / habit again - don't know what more you need - my mild irritation subsides after a brief period when I accept I wont be getting anything - it doesn't get any worse and is nothing like trhe craving I had for cigarettes

This thread is getting a bit old now, I don't feel the need to argue with anyone but I imagine you don't associate with violent drug users I have to deal with on a daily basis if you can't comprehend that people like me doing my job have to stop and deal with the types that everybody else crosses the road to avoid then you're in cloud cuckoo land more often than you realise, the first time I came across you it was in a post about homosexuality (and I was very positive) you started with the insults.
It is a site for opinions, you seem to have an opinion on things but don't apply the logic to yourself, you make statements on my drinking (which I answer) I ask questions on your using which you don't, you've only had 137 chances to talk at any length about it. But credit where it's due at least you have clearly stated opinions (I respect you for that).
I had'nt had a drink when I posted that and I have'nt had a drink now.
As an atheist (I assume) you don't believe in ghosts I try to be specific when I write (hence the reference) anyone in your family who could or would express a care would say something similar.
Good night and I wish you luck for the future.

I was wondering quite what your problem was and why my atheism was brought into it, thanks for clarifying that you bore a grudge - I'm suprised I started the insults there, I certainly try not to but if someone talks absolute garbage then I feel free to respond - I suspect someone was being homophobic for me to react
I have responded to your questions with as much detail as I feel comfortable with on a public site, I resent being viewed as a criminal for my choice of intoxicant - I do feel the debate should have been about the bigger picture
I would actually defend your right to drink - as I've said I dont believe prohibition works
No idea what you mean about my applying logic to myself
