Make my garden bigger?

Hi, any tips on making my back garden bigger? it's a blank canvas at mo and I'm willing to spend. Its a straight square at mo with a patio door entrance, and fencing all round. I would like a few shrubs/plants and maybe some decking, but i dont want it to look cluttered.

Make a list of what you want from your garden, eg, deck, shrubs, lawn, etc. Draw a scaled plan of your garden, say 1:50. and fill it in with scaled metre squares at 45deg to your house/patio doors. Ploting your features at 45deg will give the impression of a larger garden.

There should be books containing garden layouts, plans etc at your local library. Whenever I have made changes to my garden I have got some good ideas from them. They will explain how to acheive the perspective you are after.
