Parking Violation
Right,
I was photographed waiting in a loading bay in Lambeth, London.
Only thing is that i didnt leave the car, and as far as the borough know, i didnt turn my engine off.
(and if i want to really be fecicious i didnt even take it out of gear say?)
Do i have ground to say that i wasnt even parked by definition, or do i just have to suffer the consequences?
Please i really need any help/advice you can give me....Plus it will save me 60.
Thanks

How long were you there for? What was your reason for stopping? Is it clear on the photo that you were still in the car?

Lines going up the kerb mean 'no loading' and would be irrelevent to this penalty as would the existence of yellow lines.
You've been nicked for being in a special bay when you were quite clearly not supposed to be there, not worth appealing especially with what they would consider a frivolous excuse.

i wanted to stop to deliver some parcels the other day. trouble was some ignorant so and so had stopped in the loading bay, illegally.
what did i do?
stop illegally just outside the bay and risk a ticket?
drive off, and come back later ,costing me time, fuel and inconvenience?
ask the nick person to move 'cos i'd like to use the bay that was for loading/unloading. and risk a vebal or other aggresive act?
as a multidrop parcel delivery guy. you ,as you may have guessed, get no sympathy from me and remember if you make a false statement to try to wriggle out of it you could be open to prosecution.
in a helpful vein, try parking around the corner in a side street you are less likely to incure their attention. and hold a map book not a newspaper. reasonable excuse 'i was a bit lost and checking my way.'
