SIA Door Supervisor Application- Conditional discharge

Hi all

I will be applying for my Door supervisor license in the next couple of weeks but im a bit concerned it may be rejected do to a 3 month conditional discharge i was given in April 2006 for common assault. This is my first ever offence and apart from this i have a clean record. would this cause my application to be rejected?? The SIA website doesn't mention conditonal discharges but does mention convictions and warnings. Please help

A conditional discharge is the 'sentence' imposed for a conviction. (i.e. you have been convicted of a crime of violence). Therefore the SIA provisions relating to convictions apply to you.

As I read the information on the SIA website, you can't be considered for an SIA door supervisor's licence until 5 years after the end of your conditional discharge period (i.e. July 2011):

However, it's not clear whether the SIA regard all crimes involving violence as 'serious' or just some. If your conviction for common assault isn't regarded as 'serious', you might be able to apply for an SIA licence in July of this year. However, it seems certain that any current application is destined to fail.
