My little boy has got biro on our wooden breakfast bar whilst 'drawing'. It wont come off with a damp cloth, what can I use to get rid?? thanks

Try methylated spirits

or nail varnish remover

I'd go carefull with the nail varnish remover,it may affect the wood finish,try a very small out of sight area with a moistened tissue,even if there's no biro there.If the tissue picks up colour,don'r risk it. I'd also do the same check with the meths.

In boots you can buy a product called magic block.

It cost �4.99 and is in the bit where they sell the JML stuff. (Weird shopping channel items!!).

This block is like a very dense sponge and should be cut to size. All you do is wet it and wipe the area.

I used it when my darling godson drew on my cream painted wall with biro and it worked a treat!!

Failing all that, there's WD40. Totally safe and user friendly! You can even clean skin with it, non-toxic.

Also if its wooden (Not a laminate) surface and the pen has indented the surface -

Get a damp cloth and place it over the mark and iron over to remove the indentation.

Do a test check first, but hairspray removes all types of ink stains.

I have to use laminated target sheets at work and sometimes the staff write on them in permenent ink and so to get it off i go over to the perfumery dept and spray abit of D & G or Gucci on it and it comes off a treat
